A big Thank You to everyone who made it along to our first ever Showcase Event at The Belfry. Response to the show has been incredible and it's great to see that the UK pet trade is alive and kicking despite the continued economic pressures.

A sell-out show

In just two days, we welcomed over 400 visitors to our exclusive exhibition of more than a 1000 Happy Pet products, featuring over 200 new product lines. Without doubt, it's been an honour and a pleasure to host such a positive and proactive event for the industry.

At the event, our guests were invited to take a stroll through our Showcase "Hall of Fame", a winding walkway through a dazzling array of pet toys, bedding, fashions and accessories. Creativity and innovation has always been our passion, and the new approach made a refreshing change to the usual exhibition format.

Our new stars

There were too many new products to mention, but highlights and hot buys to look out for included:

• Grubber - interactive ball for dogs
• Pet Platter - feeding bowls
• Natural cat scratching posts and beds.
• PetGear - pet travel and safety range
• YAP - new autumn collection
• Tough Toys - refreshing new colours & designs
• Nature First - now for cats too.

We also used the event to announce our exciting new partnership with the RSPCA. Happy Pet will now manufacture and distribute an exclusive range of RSPCA approved pet products, with a clear focus on pet health, wellbeing and safety. More news to follow on this range and launch dates.

An evening to remember

But the products weren't the only stars of the show. On the first night of the event, we also hosted a glittering gala dinner and evening of entertainment for over 200 guests. Jason Manford, comedian and BBC1 presenter of the One Show, was the headline act with live music from The Bogus Brothers, who managed to get even the most reluctant pet retailers dancing in the aisles.
